LA-based designer Esther Voisin, dreams in denim, creating one-of-a-kind bags under the trademark “Dream Harder”.

"It’s an inspiring, versatile, functional and vernacular material," she explains. "My desire has always been to make simple, timeless pieces." She creates her own wash processes by hand, and adds writing and embellishment with leather and hardware.

And she taught us something we had never known - the origin of the word denim:

den-im/ noun ; a sturdy cotton twill fabric, typically blue, used for jeans, overalls, and other clothing. ( denim) clothing made of such fabric : a pair of denims. Origin late 17th cent.(as serge denim) from french serge de Nîmes, denoting a kind of serge from the manufacturing town of NÎMES.
